The “Urban Sign” is the exhibition of the entries to the Pan-Hellenic students’ architectural competition for the design of a wooden structure. The competition took place in the spring of 2015, while on the 26th of June, the awards were announced. The project by Aimilia–Ira Desypri, Aristeidis Misiaris, and Filippos Tsoulogiannis–Nicolaou, that received the 1st prize has been constructed and will be presented on the atrium of Benaki Museum during the exhibition.
The construction is an Info Point, providing information about permanent or ephemeral activities. The information reaches the audience through posters, brochures and flyers or through the screen mounted on the “Urban Sign”. The criteria used by the selection committee – in accordance to the competitions’ proclamation – were the ability to adapt in different areas, to assemble and disassemble, the innovative design as well as the low-cost construction. The exhibition will take place at the Βenaki Μuseum from January 21st to February 7th.
Congratulations to Aimilia–Ira, Aristeidis and Filippos. We are very happy that we helped in the illumination of their “Urban Sign”.
